Motor power density

Definition
Power density (or volumetric power density or volumetric power) is the amount of power (the time rate of energy transfer) produced per unit volume (of a motor). The higher the motor power and/or the smaller the housing size, the higher the power density. Where space is limited, volumetric power density is an important consideration. The motor design is designed to minimize space for the highest possible power output. High power density enables miniaturization of applications and end devices and is critical for portable or wearable applications such as micropumps and medical implantable devices.

Solution overview
The flux path in the motor directs the magnetic field in the available channels, minimizing losses. Small electric motors that produce high power but high losses are not the most efficient solution. Our engineers use innovative design concepts to develop high power density motors that deliver maximum power in the smallest footprint. Powerful neodymium magnets and advanced magnetic circuit design generate higher electromagnetic flux, delivering best-in-class power density. TT MOTOR continues to innovate electromagnetic coil technology to provide power with smaller motor size. Thanks to our advanced designs, we can manufacture small DC motors with tighter tolerances. Since the air gap between the rotor and stator is narrowed, less energy is input per unit of torque output.

TT MOTOR TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.
TT MOTOR's proprietary brushless slotless winding design provides unparalleled motor power density for a range of medical and industrial applications. Gearbox integration provides high power density motors for high torque applications. Our custom winding designs provide optimized solutions in the smallest possible package based on the application's specific performance needs. Linear actuator solutions with integrated lead screw offer high motor power density in a small package. This is the ideal solution for axial movement needs. Miniature integrated encoder (e.g. MR2), MRI filter and thermistor options save space and reduce application footprint.

TT MOTOR high power density motors are ideally suited for the following applications:
Surgical hand tools
Infusion system
Diagnostic analyzer
Seat drive
Pick and place
Robot technology
Access control system
